Houston nightclub shooting leaves 1 dead, 2 injured

On Monday morning, a woman’s ex-boyfriend shot a man who was talking to her outside a club on Washington Avenue in Houston and injured two others, including a public safety officer, authorities said.

A pair of off-duty Houston police officers were working extra work at a club in the 5000 block of Washington Ave when they heard gunshots and found a man with gunshot wounds in a parking lot, according to On Scene. The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The guard was shot in the arm while a passerby was shot in the leg. Both were taken to hospital with what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

The alleged shooter fled in a white Jeep Cherokee. An investigation into the shooting is still ongoing.
