The best bars in Reading, Wokingham and all other Berkshire boroughs according to Tripadvisor
Berkshire is full of pubs, restaurants and bars, which means it can be difficult to choose where to go given the variety.
Fortunately, websites such as Tripadvisor can help you decide which ones are best for you, and we’ve compiled a list of the best bars in Berkshire based on their rating on the review site.
However, Tripadvisor reviews and ratings are subject to change, so they may differ after posting.

The Cocktail Club
The Cocktail Club in the center of Reading has five stars on Tripadvisor, making it the best bar in Reading according to website reviews.
The Cocktail Club is on Gun Street in the center of Reading and patrons love the bar for its cocktail-making masterclasses.
A Tripadvisor user called ANNIE53594 said: “This is a new cocktail bar in Reading and it’s only been open a week. Went there with 4 girlfriends on our girls Christmas get together.
“We had the cocktails during happy hour and they were amazing.
“All the tables were reserved but the staff were very friendly, helpful and the service was excellent. They suggested we sit at the bar and enjoy the night.”
One thing to note is the fact that this bar only has two reviews, which makes it much harder to compare to other bars that have been around for longer.
Another Reading bar that has received many “excellent” reviews is the Botanist, which has been rated four and a half stars and is on King Street.
The long barn
The Long Barn is rated five stars on Tripadvisor and is located on Cippenham Lane in Slough.
User Mcbailey73 praises the pub for being a “community” place. They said: “Great pub, friendly staff with great food and drink. They did a great job with us in the local community.”
Other customers loved the Guinness.
JerryS1829 said: “Great beer, Guinness is particularly good, very friendly staff, couldn’t do enough for us and made it a very welcoming visit.
“Particularly impressive given the security measure we all have to adhere to right now.”
Windsor and Maidenhead
Crown and Cushion
The Crown and Cushion is on Eton High Street and is rated four and a half stars on Tripadvisor.
The bar/pub/hotel serves great British pub grub and guests love it for its comfort and cleanliness.
A user called Flyingjoce says it’s one of the ‘gems of Eton’ and wrote: ‘Once Canada became the ‘green list’ for UK travel we were looking forward to a day trip a day in Eton and heading to the Crown & Cushion.
“While the world may have changed, the Crown & Cushion remains timeless with its welcoming pub, garden and wonderful team.
“We will be checking in as guests next month (November) and can’t wait to go back!”
Fifty-Six is a wine bar/restaurant in Wokingham that has been rated four and a half stars on Tripadvisor.
Customers love them for their wine list and their terrace, which is ideal in the summer.
760clairel said: “Very good food with good wines, nice atmosphere, nice garden.
“The staff are really welcoming and friendly. Kieran knows our needs before we do, knows the wine list and welcomes and treats us like regulars even though we are new to the area.
“Our new favorite place. Trying all the different wines was a treat and walking into such a warm welcome is always nice.”
The Market Inn
The Market Inn is a pub/bar in Bracknell that has been rated four and a half stars on Tripadvisor.
Guests love the bar for its live sports and karaoke nights.
User L4676andyh said, “A friendly boozer, prices are average. Had breakfast this morning, good value, portions are great! Fantastic cooking by Niki, great job!”

The White Horse of Hermitage is a bar/pub near Newbury in the village of Hermitage.
It has been rated four and a half stars on Tripadvisor.
Locals love the place for its pub grub and friendly staff.

“Had fish and chips and ice cream, they arrived on time and looked fresh. Fair prices, good food, great service.
