The North Goa District Magistrate has ordered the service and sale of alcohol in liquor bars, pubs, shops, clubs, shacks or any other establishment to be closed by 11 p.m. ‘election. The model code of conduct is in effect, a press release said. Release.

However, this ordinance does not apply to establishments, supply stores, etc., which are required by law to close before 11:00 p.m.

Only the sale and service of alcohol in all liquor bars, shops, pubs, shacks, clubs, provision shops or any establishment in the whole district of North Goa must be stopped daily before 23:00 until that the Model Electoral Code of Conduct is in effect. . These establishments can remain open and continue to operate without the sale or service of alcohol beyond 11 p.m. Any violation of the above instructions may be reported to the District Elections Officer’s Office, Panaji.

If any liquor store/bar, pub or any establishment is found serving alcohol beyond the above times, during the said period, it will result in the licenses being voided and the owner or offender will be liable to criminal prosecution under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code. 1908, section 30 of the Excise Duties Act 1964 and other relevant provisions of applicable laws.

The Flying Squads, Excise Department Officials, District Magistrate, Police or any other authorized officer/official should act immediately in the event that any offense comes to their knowledge or is reported to them and should immediately report such cases to the Commissioner Excise or to the auditor.
