Covid 19 Omicron outbreak: Napier restaurant, bars and Queenstown flights among new exhibition venues

New landmarks are now in the North and South Island after the country recorded a record 810 new cases in the community today.

A number of places in Queenstown have been visited by someone infected with Covid-19, including a cinema, restaurants and bars.

Anyone who watched Jackass Forever at 7 p.m. Wednesday is considered a close contact and must self-isolate.

Patrons of Queenstown Gym on Tuesday afternoon are being asked to self-isolate after the venue was visited by an infected person. The same advice is for gym-goers at CityFitness in Upper Hutt Central last Thursday afternoon.

Just after 3 p.m., the Department of Health released a number of new exhibition sites, including a Paraparaumu cafe, a Lower Hutt restaurant and new flights.

Anyone who traveled on flight JQ292 from Queenstown to Auckland on February 7 and was seated in rows 21, 22, 23, 24 or 25 must self-isolate.

The same advice is for anyone who traveled on flight JQ258 from Wellington to Auckland on the same day and was seated in rows 9, 10, 11, 12 or 13.

In Whakatane, Cobb and Co has been visited by an infected person and dine-in patrons are to self-isolate.

People present at these locations during the specified time should self-isolate and get tested.

Earlier this afternoon, a burger restaurant and cocktail bar in Nelson, and restaurants and an indoor playground in Hamilton were listed as Covid-19 Omicron places of interest.

Patrons of Pog Mahones Irish Pub and rock bar Zephyr Queenstown in the early hours of Wednesday morning are asked to self-isolate, testing immediately and on day 5 after exposure.

Patrons of Burger Culture Nelson and Kismet Cocktail and Whiskey Bar on Tuesday evenings and nights are asked to do the same.

Three flights are also on the list: flight JQ292 from Queenstown to Auckland, flight JQ258 from Wellington to Auckland and flight JQ292 from Queenstown to Auckland, all on February 7.

Passengers seated in certain rows are considered close contacts and asked to self-isolate, test immediately and on Day 5.

People who have been exposed are urged to register their visits online or call Healthline so contact tracers can get in touch.
