Nine catering establishments (F&B) in Singapore were penalized for violating safety management measures (SMM) over the past weekend.

This was announced by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Environment (MSE) today (December 22).

Seven ordered to close

Seven of the F&B outlets have been ordered to close for violation of MMS and MMS differentiated by vaccination (VDS).

The seven points of sale are:

1. Angel Bar Beer (5001 Beach Road # 02-23 Golden Mile Complex)

He failed to ensure a safety distance of at least one meter between groups of seated clients.

The operator was ordered to close for 10 days from December 23, 2021 to January 1, 2022 (both dates included).

2. HARU (3 Magazine Road # 01-01)

Haru provided his customers with dice games that were to be played at his premises.

MSE has said the facility is a repeat offender, so it was ordered to close for 40 days from December 22, 2021 to January 30, 2022 (both dates included).

3. PUB 98 (237 Joo Chiat Road)

According to MSE, Pub 98 has delayed the entry of enforcement officers to its premises and allowed intermixing between different groups of seated clients.

The operator received a closure order for 10 days from December 18 to 27, 2021 (both dates included).

4. Mohican Pub & Music Lounge (26 Madras Street)

MSE said the Mohican Pub & Music Lounge has failed to minimize interactions between staff and patrons. Nor did it ensure a safety distance of at least one meter between groups of seated customers.

The operator received a closure order for 10 days from December 18 to 27, 2021 (both dates included).

5. Euphoria (19 Tanglin Road Tanglin Shopping Center B1-28)

Euphoria failed to minimize the interaction between staff and customers and deployed hostesses.

Nor did it ensure a safety distance of at least one meter between groups of seated customers.

In addition, the point of sale did not ensure that every customer completed their SafeEntry check-in before entering the premises and did not have a system to verify their vaccination status.

The establishment being a repeat offender, the operator received a closure order for 20 days from December 18, 2021 to January 6, 2022 (both dates included).

6. Club Hermès (161, chemin Kitchener)

Club Hermes failed to minimize interactions between staff and customers and also deployed hostesses.

The operator was ordered to close for 10 days from December 19 to December 28, 2021 (both dates included).

7. The Tanglin Gin Jungle (26B Dempsey Road)

The Tanglin Gin Jungle had allowed staff to consume alcohol on the premises after 10:30 p.m.

Its closure was ordered for 10 days, from December 23, 2021 to January 1, 2022 (both dates included).

Two fine points of sale

According to MSE, two other F&B outlets were sentenced to composition fines for committing SMM violations.

They are:

1. Bistro CY (5001 Beach Road # B1-05 / 06 Golden Mile Complex)

He was fined S $ 1,000 for failing to maintain a safety distance of at least one meter between groups of customers.

2. Thong Lor (5001 Beach Road # 02-24 Complex Golden Mile)

He was also fined S $ 1,000 for failing to ensure that every customer completes their SafeEntry check-in before entering the premises.
